'Breezeblocks' - Alt-J

It's hard to place a genre on Alt-J's sound, but their single 'Breezeblocks' is an absolute masterpiece and a triumph. You're greeted by the macabre lyrics "she may contain the urge to run away, but hold her down with soggy clothes and breezeblocks", however the song transforms from sinister to beautifully poignant with the words "please don't go, please don't go, I love you so, I love you so". 
From the swoony mumbles of frontman Joe Newman and the band's haunting backing vocals, to the simple yet perfectly fitting instrumentals, a number of sounds are knitted together in the song to form a kind of brilliantly multi-genre 'blanket'. Alt-J are a band that you will adore, but also envy for conjuring up the musical perfection that you could only dream of creating. No words can do Alt-J's music justice.
