The verses consist of frontman Lias Saoudi drawling various descriptions of leather, e.g. "devastated", "soggy", and "baggy", while the whisper of backing vocals tell you to "touch the leather". It's freaky, but so, so good.
The track's triumph comes with the chorus, in which the band throw up chords that are both jaunty and haunting. This, combined with an infectious riff and noises not dissimilar to the weird sound effects you get on old school keyboards, makes for a wonderfully disorientating listen.
A much-needed offering of unorthodox rock, 'Touch The Leather' is sleazy in all the right ways. The Fat White Family have the worrying ability to make you feel naughty just for listening.
