'Call Me In The Afternoon' - Half Moon Run

Half Moon Run are an indie/alternative band from Canada whose music is a blend of unique vocals, warm harmonies, and catchy riffs. Their most recent single, 'Call Me In The Afternoon', is an excellent example of the folky-pop elements that make up their distinctive sound.

The song is introduced by frontman Devon Portielje's mesmerising vocals and a fragile, twanging guitar riff. Accompanied by a scattered beat and backing vocals that softly echo Portielje's own, the chorus is beautifully layered and almost a work of art in itself. There's something haunting and almost magical about the song, and it's difficult to put into words - which is certainly not a bad thing. Half Moon Run are quite unlike any of the other bands swimming around in the 'been-there-done-that' swamp that is currently the indie music industry. 'Call Me In The Afternoon' is definitely worth a listen - and I'm sure everyone will be hearing this Montreal trio everywhere very soon, anyway.
