It's 2013

Happy new year! I'm sorry for my lack of reviews in December (no doubt you were all waiting on here with bated breath), but I've been incredibly busy. As a kind of apology, here are a few tracks you should hear to celebrate the arrival of 2013.

'Wraith' by Peace
The track is carried by an infectious riff and the dripping-with-cool vocals of frontman Harrison Koisser, who makes even innuendos sound romantic.
The chorus is quite frankly beautiful, and I  can honestly say that while watching the video I barely noticed the twerking bottoms.

'Beach' by San Cisco
Australian four-piece San Cisco are undeniably cute.
The lyric "I made a mixtape, with all the songs that you hate" fails to sound bitter when sung and just makes you go 'AWWW' instead.
A jangly chorus, accompanied by female vocals, oozes summer despite the song's December release. Imagine Vampire Weekend if they let girls in.

'Bond Girls' by Childhood
Childhood's new track gives us the impression that they're beginning to take their music more seriously, but it still radiates youth and reminds us of the happy parts of adolescence. The band seem to be able to inject fun into anything - think of them as really cool, musical nurses.
