'Blue Velvet' - Childhood

'Blue Velvet' is the first single from shoegaze/dream pop four-piece Childhood, from Nottingham, London. The track radiates a warm, beachy sound that should feel 'samey' by now, but manages not to (think The Drums infused with the catchy guitar licks of Yuck, and you've got it). 

Frontman Ben Romans Hopcraft's vocals combined with wonderfully lazy guitar playing make for 4 minutes of extremely pleasant listening.
The chorus oozes the carefree, 'act-now-and-regret-later' attitude of the young, and somehow makes you reminisce and miss things you've never even experienced. That's a pretty cool thing.
