'Navajo' - Island Cassettes

Island Cassettes are an indie band from Kent, UK, whose music is influenced by the likes of The Maccabees and Foals. Their sound, however, is a unique fusion of folk and South-African music, and their first single 'Navajo' oozes the beachy goodness that makes this band so special.

'Navajo' is unmistakeably Bombay Bicycle Club-esque in its guitar, and the entire track sounds as if it's been washed in Cape Town's waves. Accompanied by soothing vocals courtesy of James Lloyd Smith, it's bright, warm and summery despite its November release.

It's not hard to tell that this is only the beginning of something big, and the future looks promising for Island Cassettes. Below you can watch the band's wonderful performance of 'Navajo', showcasing their versatility (not only are their recordings great, but they sound good in forests too).
